I bought my '88 Dodge Ramcharger AW100 new in '88. When I picked it up at the Dodge dealer it had 5 miles on the odometer. Now it has 118,000 miles. Until 117,950 miles the suspension and drivetrain was all original. I haven't done anything to the engine, transmission, or transfer case. The engine is a 360 four barrel. The transmission is a 4 speed manual with the super low first and reverse gears. The things that I've done so far to my Ramcharger are that I had Tri-County Gear http://www.tricountygear.com/ install a Skyjacker 8" Soft Ride® Suspension System, a Skyjacker front sway bar lowering kit, some Skyjacker braided stainless steel brake lines, a Skyjacker dropped pitman arm on the steering box, a Skyjacker adjustable drag link and some Skyjacker front shackle urethane bushings. The Skyjacker 8" Soft Ride® Suspension System came with a raised steering arm that goes on the front end. I also had Tri-County Gear replace the front end with a new surplus 3/4 ton Dana 44, replace the rear end with a rebuilt 3/4 ton Dana 60 that has 14" diameter brake drums and is almost the same width as the front end, the original rear end is 3" narrower than the front end, install custom 35 spline axles in the rear end, install 5.38:1 ring and pinion gears, make a new rear driveshaft with a constant velocity joint at the transfer case end, lower the transfer case crossmember/skid plate 1" with longer bolts and spacers, and on the front end tilt the pinion up and redo the ends to correct the caster. I'm in the process of installing Bushwacker Cut-Out fender flares. When they say "Cut-Out" they really mean cut out. I had to make new sections of fender lips and weld them to the fenders where I had cut out parts of the old front fenders, cut out sections of the front fenderwells and make new sections and weld them in, cut sections out of four brackets that are behind the front fenders by the top of the wheel openings and at the back of the wheel openings and weld them back together, modify the front bumper brackets to move the bumper forwards about 2" to clear the fender flares, relocate the front sidemarker/turn signal lights into the bumper otherwise the fender flares would have covered them, and trim the body moulding where the fender flares contact the body moulding. I have also started putting some 5 1/2" rubber fender extensions on the fender flares to cover the tread on the 44/19.5-16.5 TSL Boggers that are on Weld Racing 16.5”x14” Super Single II’s because they stick out a ways from the body. I have a 3" Body Lift and Lift Lips I still have to install so the front tires will have some clearance to the fenders when the steering wheel is turned all the way left or right. I still haven't driven my Ramcharger with the 44" Boggers on it yet, but, if you want I will let you know how it drives once I drive it with the 44" Boggers on it.
